Amelia Hemphill is a presenter, director and self shooting filmmaker who has created award- winning documentaries, short films and podcasts for numerous international media outlets. 

 

As one of the BBC's first 'Solutions Journalists' she tells stories about tech, innovation, global health and people fixing the world.

 

Amelia has developed, filmed and presented stories for: BBC News, BBC World Service, BBC Travel, BBC Studios,

BBC 3, BBC 100 Women, Radio 4, Fast Company Magazine, CNN, Wild Media, Bloomberg TV, DW News, Ventures Africa and The Atlantic among others, with her work being regularly featured on TV, digital, radio and social media platforms.

 

Prior to joining the BBC, Amelia worked for Bloomberg TV in New York and was the tech and innovation correspondent for TheStreet.com. She covered the start-up scene in New York's 'Silicon Alley' and frequently reported from the New York Stock Exchange. 

 

Amelia is a graduate of Oxford University and Columbia Journalism School. She was short listed as one of Edinburgh International Television Festival's 'Ones to Watch,' and has won multiple #GreenFilm and media Awards for her coverage of environment + climate change innovation.

 

She is represented by United Talent Agency (UTA) and Chartwell Speakers in the UK + US.
